The 2006 season is coming to a close. Not many tournaments to be found this time of year, so I am really looking forward to playing next week. The tournament is a pro-am, with the pros competing for their own purse. Two days, two courses, two low scores should do just fine.
November marks the last month of (hopefully) decent weather in the great city of Salt Lake City, so I'll be taking advantage of it this week. We get to play golf pretty much year round, but we will get some mandatory time off due to snow. It melts, then we put on the parka and play through the cold. I hope to be in warmer places during those periods of snow, so I'll be hunting down some tournaments.

Go Jazz. They look very good, and healthy, this year. 3-0 baby. (Hope I don't jinx them)

Depends on how much you want to spend. The name brand clubs ARE much better than knock-offs, but as a beginner, you don't really need an expensive set to learn with. You probably wouldn't notice a whole lot of difference. Once you get hooked you'll want to get a better set, but a lot of used sets will do for now.
Used name brand clubs would be a good place to start. For your irons, you probably want "cavity backs" or some other oversize variation. Blades are less forgiving.
